My cat Spike was previously owned, but in good condition. He wasn't shaking or throwingup on the floor or having some kind of a fit. For a cat in an animal protection he seemed to be in pretty good shape! The animal services population said that he was ready for adoption which made me wonder if the other animals in the cages were doomed already.
Adoption is just an additional one word for a cat sale! They didn't want us to think this was a company arrangement, so they dulled the verbiage by telling us we were giving him a new home and a future; even hinting that if we didn't take him, he would be meeting the grim reaper the next day.

Hate is a BAD ass sickness, and it quickly ravages the brain, causing the patient to become very obnoxious onto believing their right about everything. I have shaved my head myself and on a incorporate of other occasions cut most of my hair off myself at different times in my life. A friend of mine had started to first cut the sides then a bit here and a bit there without any particular form or buildings until it was a bit of a mess. I have had clients do the same and I have had to "fix" it, sometimes with a shorter more even hair cut and sometimes with extentions. I had a client with cancer that wanted me to shave her head. She said she wanted to be the one that decided to go bald; it was not the cancer's decision. I shaved the beautiful blond locks that I had seen every eight weeks right off. Her eyes filled with tears along with my own, but we both smiled because it was her decision, she also decided in that moment to live and fight the cancer. She felt like a warrior with her new hairless statement, and she lived.
I have had many mostly female clients admit to a hair chopping or two. Some of the more passive ones will come in and ask to have their long blonde hair cut to their chin and colored brown, My commentary is commonly "So how is life treating you"? Nine times out of ten it is a break up, a death, the husband cheated, or on one occasion my client's cat died and the next thing I knew her hair was gone. Recently a famously troubled pop star did it too, off with her hair! So why does this happen? Is it serious? Is it a form of independence and relaxation or is it a clue to an impending nervous break down? possibly it is a way to release a painful part of your life and start new. I have found that it is mostly women that do this when they are in a state of stress. Should this be looked at as a thinking health issue in women? To truly form an understanding I think we must first look at the history of the act itself. Head shaving.
For centuries the cutting of hair and the act of shaving one's head has been an act of punishment, creed and a descriptive inequity in the middle of the wealthy and the poor. The earliest example of head shaving was in old Egypt and Greece. If one had long beautiful hair it was a sticker of wealth and power, if you were lower class, a laborer or a slave chances are your head was shaved. In the 1700's hair was worn with many wigs, attachment, extentions and adornments, the bigger and more explicate the hair the finer and wealthier gentleman or lady you must be.
For Religion
If you look carefully you will notice that head shaving is a part of the Buddhist, Christian, Muslim, Jain and Hindu traditions. Buddhist and Christian monks commonly undergo some form of head shaving during their ordination. When a prince that became the Buddha left the castle to seek a way beyond aging sickness and eventual death one of the first things he did was shave his head and beard off this is why Buddhist monks thoroughly shave their heads and beards, to show their commitment for their beliefs. In some religions you shave your head when your father or loved one dies. The understanding behind shaving one's head is a sticker of renunciation, hair is a sticker of attachment and to shed it is to shed your life of worldly attachment. So on one hand it can be a noble thing to have it shorn off for your religious values, for ordination and ritual, in the dark ages it was not uncommon for a wife to cut off her braid and give it to her husband that was forging in to battle for good luck and to protect him on his journey. In the 1800's habitancy wore lockets that encased locks of their loved ones hair. We still even today keep locks of hair as keep sake; our child's first hair clipping is ordinarily saved and kept as a memento. On the other hand it can be a sticker of punishment, disgrace, humiliation and degradation.
Punishment
Prisoners, the insane and the ww2 concentration camps all practiced head shaving as part of punishment and for sanitary reasons this act prevented the spread of lice. As of the 2006, some countries such as the United States, Russia and Libya still shaved the heads of prison inmates as a punishment as well as the boot camps for juvenile delinquents. The custom of shaving heads has been used in the military, mostly for new recruits. And any hair they are allowed has to be troops standard which is just about 4cm of hair on the top.
Many women over the centuries have had this kind of punishment bestowed upon them for many reasons, it was base for men to shave a women's head for the act of adultery, prosutution even disobedience. A textile mill in England in 1849 used to house male and female workers most of them were young children and teens. They were forced to work 10-14 hours per day and the ones that had a home surface the mill would have to walk and hour there and back, they needed to earn sufficient for food as families were large in that day and if you were able you worked. There was corporal abuse used in the mills (flogging, the strap, and other beatings) for being late, not working fast sufficient and talking back, but the worst and most feared punishments of all was when you disobeyed, tried to flee or lied you got your head shaved. The girls were proud of their hair and hoped it that it would help them to get a husband and out of the horrible conditions of the mill one day.
During ww2 in France from 1943 -1946 about 20,000 women of all ages and professions were accused of sexual, frugal and over all collaborating with the occupying Germans. Most often it was the men who carried out the punishment of shaving the accused head sometimes in the town quadrate among a cheering crowd to humiliate, degrade and make an example of their betrayal and sometimes it was a matter that was carried out within the home at the hands of the accused woman's father or husband. The act of shaving their heads was in it self was a punishment but also a reminder of the offence to the accused as it grew out and to the communal that would throw things at these women as the passed by wearing a scarf if they were allowed, to cover the shame.

Donating our natural, 10-12 inches worth of hair to organizations that help in making wigs for children with cancer is one way to help. I have had clients do this, one particularly unselfish young lady all of 10 years old wanted to donate her hair to the Locks of Love Foundation. She cut her waist length hair to her chin to help another child feel a bit best while fighting for his or her life. I was truly inspired by her generosity. In August of 2006 thousands of prisoners had been shaving their heads and chests to donate hair to help mop up the Philippines' worst oil spill. The collection was in response to a nationwide drive. Tons of hair and feathers were used to digest more than 200,000 liters of market fuel that leaked from a tanker when it sank off the central island of Guimara 15,000 inmates at a maximum protection prison in southern Manila, including 1,000 on death row, began donating hair. incorporate the hair with the oil and your going to get the biggest clog in history and you understanding it was gross when you had to unclog your shower drain. My boyfriend and I have 5 cats. We have learned to be creative. Playing with your cats definitely helps you bond good with them.
Here are 5 cat toy and games we have discovered over the years that unquestionably keep our cats entertained.
Cats Throwing Up
1.) I call this one "Stick & Rug." This is one of my cats favorites. Take a thin stick about 18 inches in length. Any stick wil do. I like to use the plastic sticks from cat toys I have. You know the ones I mean. The sticks with a piece of string on one end, and something soft and colorful attached to the string...Like feathers, a stuffed mouse or fish, a piece of fabric etc. Just use the stick part.

Next, you need a rug or a piece of rug to play the game. Start to move the stick underneath the rug or carpet. The sound of the stick rubbing against the fabric will get your cat's attention. Also, move the stick in-and-out from under the rug. This will arouse your cat's natural hunting instincts. They will paw and try to pounce on the stick. Ally, my spirited limited star, even likes to go under the rug and try to capture the stick.
2.) Most cats love balls. Mine do, but they are not that amused with the store bought ones. I call this next cat game "bally ball." Take a piece of notepad paper and crumple it up into a small ball. Any small piece of paper will do. These home-made paper balls make great cat toys!
Let your cat see and hear you crumpling the paper. This gets their attention. Then I set the paper ball on a face near them, like a chair or a table, and flick it with my thumb and forefinger. Midnight, my 4 year old Tuxedo, loves to jump and grab the paper ball and flip it around.
You can also take an old sock and put a crumpled piece of paper in it. Squeeze it a limited so your cat can hear the sound of the crumpled paper. Throw it around and see if your cat plays with it. Also, you can tie a knot on the sock with a piece of string. Then drag it on the floor and get your cat to chase it. When they make palpate with the sock, the sound of the paper helps keep their interest.
3.) Cats are natural hunters. This next toy/game is a unquestionably good hunting rehearsal for indoor and outdoor cats. You can use any type of plastic bottle, but a 16oz-20oz water bottle works the best. Cut a small round hole in the side of the bottle, about one-half inch. Then unscrew the top and fill it with their kibble.
Start to roll it around the floor and the kibble will start to come out of the side hole. Your cat will see that when they move the bottle around they will be rewarded with food. You can put your cats favorite treats in the bottle too.
4.) Paper towel rolls or toilet-paper rolls make fun toys some cats unquestionably love. I like to take the empty roll and roll it around on the floor. My cats like to jump on the roll and give it a good "bunny kick." You can also take a crumpled-up piece of paper, cloth, or a cat toy and put it inside the roll. Some cats unquestionably enjoy trying to get the object out.
5.) other toy some cats unquestionably love is a shoe string. The longer the better. If it's too short you may encounter some claw action. You could get scratched. Do not use yarn. It can unquestionably break apart and be swallowed by your cat. Drag the shoe string on the floor and get your cat to chase it. If you like, tie
something to one end of it...like one of their toys, a crumpled piece of paper etc.
Besides the totally free stuff, there are also many cat toys you can buy for next to nothing. For example, most cats love a hand-held laser light/laser pen. You can buy a laser light at your local retailer for about three dollars. Use a flashlight if you like. I also like to check my local dollar store on a quarterly basis for reasonable cat toys.
I hope I gave you some fun, spirited ideas for that purrrfect cat in your life. But remember, some cats like to play more than others. Some cats enjoy separate toys and games than others. Just like us humans.

Jacob, Michael and Me were helping put together shelves for our teacher after we was done with Cats testing. This is Michael trying to catch cashews that Jacob throws in his mouth but ends up throwing a screw instead.
This video shows a mild episode of hers- sometimes it would be much worse where she would dart away from her back ripples, like she was trying to run away from them.She would sometimes run into things as she was darting - It would make me so sad to watch her. It happened a few times per day, but mostly in the morning and evening. Bela has some Siamese in her (blue eyes) which is what pointed me in the direction of FHS at first after reading that Siamese, Burmese, and Himalayan breeds are more likely to get it. I spent alot of time searching online looking for information about FHS, trying to figure out what to do. At first, I tried to treat it as an allergy by starting to get rid of all toxins on the house (I guess it was good for us to 'go green' anyway.) I got all natural cleaners for the rug and floors, got rid of all sprays, candles, cleansers, etc. I also tried to buy all natural hand lotions and soaps for myself in case one of the many lotions I used was causing a reaction. Then I tried to treat it as a behavioral thing by playing with her more. Someone told me it helped to get another cat, but we are not even allowed to have Bela, so getting another was out of the question. We tried to make a point to play with her as much as possible (toy on a string for her to chase, throwing a ball, etc) - lots of things to keep her moving and busy. I also changed her plastic bowls to glass bowls and started using Science Diet food instead of the grocery store bought Friskies ...
Cats sure have captivating ways of expressing themselves. Some are cute, and some, well, can hurt. Most cat owners know about love chomps, those playful nips cats give at times. They are distinct than true, defensive bites, which draw blood and certainly hurt. Love chomps are given out of affection, and sometimes can hurt a little, depending upon kitty's mood. What is going on, and why do they do this?
My cat Beau is deaf and is very physical in expressing himself. He loves to be touched, petted and kissed. His reaction back is to "chew" on me, sort of gnawing his teeth against my arm, as he purrs. I soon realized that this is out of caring, not out of defensiveness. He does this whenever he is deliriously happy, and it's sort of like he's trying to kiss me back but does it with his microscopic teeth. Lucky me. I appreciate him for being so loving, and just show love back, but back off if he chomps a microscopic too hard.

When your cat does this, don't hit or get mad, just gradually brush it off and distract him to do something else. Cats rejoinder to suggestion, pro trainers rely on this principle to train them. By giving kitty something else to think about, he will forget about gnawing on you and put his attentiveness elsewhere. Though I'm not an animal behaviorist, I know what works for my cats, and use data learned by those in the know. A good reserved supply to taste if you need a real professional's advice on cat behavior is at your local chapter of the Aspca (American society for the stoppage of Cruelty to Aniimals). I called my local chapter and asked who to talk to regarding inevitable behaviors and they told me a behaviorist would call me back. She did, and was very helpful in giving me tips on handling problematic cat behaviors of distinct kinds. The Aspca has local chapters in most cities and is a good reserved supply for help with animals of many kinds so I advise them.

Learning good transportation with our pets is all the time helpful in insight what they do and why they do it. Many pets end up at the pound because their owners didn't take the time or power to learn why the animal did inevitable behaviors, then just gave up instead of fixing the gap in communication. We have to show our pets what to do in order for them to know what is imaginable of them. Cats can be more independent, of course, but they can be trained to undo bad behaviors with time and practise. Some things take more time than others. It is foremost to be sick person and kind, anger only makes pets fearful and less apt to learn what you want them to learn.
For example, my cat Beau didn't sleep straight through the night when I first got him. As soon as the lights went off, it was his time to party. He sang his lungs out, picked on the other two cats (who were trying to sleep) and made a nusiance of himself. So, to combat his nighttime rowdiness, I kept him up all day, by waking him up every so often as he tried to nap, getting out a string with a toy on the end of it, and getting him to play till he was tired. By the end of the day, he welcomed sleep. And, he slept straight through the night. It worked. After awhile, I didn't need put forth any attempt anymore, he just automatically slept straight through the night. I still wake him up occaisionally while the day, just in case, to make sure he's truly tired by the end of the day.
Another strange behavior is leg climbing. Sometimes, kittens think your leg makes a good substitute for a tree trunk and try to climb it. O-u-c-h! That can make just about anything mad at first but remember, it's just a behavior that needs correcting. Kitty isn't aware that he is clawing the heck out of your skin, and is trying to be energetic. Give him something else to play on, like a kitty condo/cat tree. Those are great for cats who love to climb. Sprinkle it with catnip, and the next time microscopic kitty throws himself at your leg, swiftly put him on the cat tree, and mimic scratching on it, to show him what to do with it. By showing him, he will learn that it's more fun to climb the cat tree than you. Cat trees are all the time a good investment, I got mine on Ebay, and the cats live on it, practically. They know it's theirs and never scratch the couch since they have a place to get out their scratching needs.
Do you have a cat who loves to rocket colse to the house as he knocks over knicknacks and other stuff in his way? It's kind of like having a herd of wild elephants go charging straight through the living room, development a load of noise as they go. This is just cat power being spent, kitty is bored and looking something to do. Give him some toys, and throw them for him so he can play. One great way to get kitty's power focused is to use a laser light pointer and aim it at the wall. Watch kitty flip and flop, hopping at the wall on his tiptoes, as he tries to get that light. Don't shine the light in his eyes, because it is a laser, but do use it as a tool to play. Beau loves the laser light pointer and will watch the wall for hours afterwards, waiting for the light to come back. They can be bought at any office contribute or pet store, cheap.
Another great and cheap toy to get kitty playing and distracted is the cotton swab, or Q-tip, but only let your cats play with these under your supervision so they don't ingest the cotton fuzz on the end. My cats never have swallowed any, and we've used them as toys for all my life. These things make my cats go wild. Just throw it in the middle of the room, or tie it to a string and drag it colse to the room. Any cat in the room will be drawn to it like a moth to a flame. My cat Blackie will do gymnastic manoevers with Q-tips, as he picks it up and throws it for himself, when nobody else does it for him. He can leap and rotate in mid-air. Cotton swabs make cats do the funniest things.
Embrace the crazy things your cat does, don't punish, just retrain if they do things that certainly bother you. It just takes a microscopic insight and patience. See what they need - are they bored, are they trying to show caring but doing it in a way that hurts? gradually retrain or distract. When kitty knows what you want from him, he will finally get the hint and learn..most of the time. Beau still chomps on my arm, but doesn't do it as hard as he used to. He doesn't like being ignored, and if he mistakenly chomps too hard, I just walk off and don't give him the attentiveness he wants. That, in itself, is punishment to him and he has learned from it.

Washington, June 24, 2008 (IranVNC)—The recent stoning sentence on adultery charges for two sisters in Iran is sparking a debate over the legality of that court order. 16.30 GMT-12:30 PM/EST In February this year, sisters Zohreh and Azar Kabiri, from the town of Shahriar in Tehran Province, were charged with adultery. They will be sentenced to death by stoning. The verdict comes six months after each sister had already carried out a sentence of 99 lashes for the same crime. In its 2008 report, Amnesty International and other human rights groups have demanded an end to execution in Iran, particularly stoning.
